This is my first time to visit here. There are many galleries and studio scattered around the area. Alike 798 art space, here is also an important artist community in Beijing, but it is a little far from downtown Beijing, 30 KM in the east.
The beginning of Songzhuang started in the late 1980s at Yuanmingyuan, from 1994 many artists moved here, 2005-2006 the village attracted much attention from the international media, now here habits about 3,000 artists.

Tongzhou district is one of the suburb districts of eastern Beijing, big construction makes the price of real estate quite reasonable, in the following years, lots of downtown Beijingers move here, or maybe just buy the property for investment.
Tongzhou is not far from the Beijing International Airport. From the downtown city, a drive of 30 minutes at the express way makes you into the downtown Beijing.
Today is a raining day, it is cool and nice.
