After the torrential downpour last week, Beijing is not so much humid, and somehow becomes comfortable at night. After a dinner with friends, I made this trip into the hutongs.

This is my second time to the park, this time I took some more photos with snow. I walked through the park from west to east, as it was a very cold day, this way kept me a little more warmer with the strong wind went from my back. The park is free as a public park, but to climb up the wall, you will need to go to the ticket office at the east end, it is in the arcade way, the arcade was the passage way for the old railway which connected Beijing and Shenyang in the north-east of Beijing.
Click here for more my last visit to this place. The place is very close to the subway station at the Chongwenmen.

Even though I would say Beijing is pretty flat, but the city is just next to mountains, small hills of Taihang Mountain chain touch the suburb of Beijing in the north and west direction, they are visible in the clear days, beyond the mountains in the north (where are famous for the Great Wall), there stretches the Inner Mongolia Plateau, in very hot summer days, just drive alone with the Jing-Zhang Express Way, 3 hours you can feel the cool breeze from grassland.

The Temple of the Reclining Buddha is located in the Western Hills at the southern foot of Jubao (also called Shou’an) Mountain, about 20 kilometers from Beijing downtown. It is inside the Beijing Botanical Garden, so if you want to visit this temple, you have to pay the garden ticket first.
